ERC-20 token gating for Discord, in whole tokens, not base units.
Token communities often want roles by balance: supporters above one threshold, larger backers above another. NXT reads ERC-20 balances on any EVM chain, sums them across a member's wallets, and assigns roles for the range each member falls into.
Balances change quietly
Fungible token balances move constantly through trades, transfers, and sometimes rebasing. Unlike an NFT sale, there is no single event that clearly marks a member leaving a tier, so balance roles need regular, complete re-checks to stay meaningful.
Tiers also need boundaries. Without a maximum, a large holder ends up with every lower role as well.
How NXT gates on token balances
An ERC-20 rule takes a network, a token address, a minimum, and an optional maximum. NXT reads the token's symbol and decimals when you enter the address, so you set thresholds in normal units, and decimals such as 2.5 are allowed.
NXT reads balanceOf for each of the member's wallets and adds the balances. ERC-20 rules are not watched in real time. Balances are read when a member verifies or changes wallets, and the scheduled sweep re-checks every verified member every 2 days on Free, daily on Growth, and hourly on Pro, which also picks up rebasing.
To require both an NFT and a token balance, use a Combo rule. The conditions can be on different chains.
Set it up. Three steps.
Enter the token
Add an ERC-20 rule, choose the network, and paste the token address. NXT fills in the symbol and decimals.
Set the range
Enter a minimum and, for lower tiers, a maximum, then pick the role.
Choose your sweep
Pick the plan whose sweep frequency fits: every 2 days on Free, daily on Growth, and hourly on Pro.
ERC-20 rule details
Normal units
Thresholds are entered in whole tokens with decimals allowed. NXT handles base units.
Min and max
Non-overlapping tiers keep each member in the one balance tier they belong to.
Summed wallets
Balances from every proven wallet, including delegated cold wallets, are added together.
Any EVM chain
Use tokens on any of the 44 built-in networks or a chain you add yourself.
Native coins too
A Native balance rule requires a minimum balance of the chain's own coin, such as ETH or AVAX.
Safe failures
If a balance cannot be read, the result is unknown and no role is removed.
