A Discord captcha bot that keeps members inside Discord.
NXT puts an image captcha at the door of your server. New members solve a short code inside Discord, receive a role on success, and only then see the rest of your channels. Nobody is sent to an external page.
Automated joins add up
Public servers attract automated accounts that post scam links, spam direct messages, or inflate member counts. Discord's built-in verification levels help, but many communities want an explicit step that a person must complete before seeing any channel.
Sending members to an outside website for that step adds friction and looks similar to the phishing flows the captcha is meant to protect against.
How the NXT captcha works
You create a gate channel that everyone can see and choose a role for NXT to assign on success. A member clicks Start, sees an image with a distorted six-character code in an ephemeral message, clicks Enter code, and types it into a modal. Easily confused characters are left out of the code.
Each challenge allows three attempts and expires after ten minutes, and members can start a fresh one. The gate itself comes from your channel permissions: hide channels from @everyone and show them to the captcha role.
If you also use token-gated roles, place the verification channel behind the captcha role so only people who passed can verify.
Set it up. Three steps.
Create the gate
Make a channel such as #start-here that @everyone can view, and give NXT permission to post there.
Configure captcha
In Dashboard > Captcha, pick the channel and the role, then save and post the panel.
Set permissions
Deny View Channel to @everyone elsewhere and allow it for the captcha role.
