Captcha

Captcha puts an image challenge in front of your server to filter out automated accounts. Members solve it inside Discord, and NXT assigns a role on success. The gate itself comes from your channel permissions, set up in step 5.

#1. Create the gate channel

Create a text channel such as #start-here that @everyone can view. Once you set permissions in step 5, this is the only channel unverified members will see.

#2. Give NXT access

In that channel, make sure the NXT role has View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Attach Files (for the captcha image).

#3. Choose a role

Create a role such as @Human that NXT will assign on success. Place it below the NXT role in Server Settings > Roles.

#4. Configure in the dashboard

1. Open Dashboard > Captcha.
2. Pick the gate channel and the role.
3. Click Save and post panel. NXT posts a panel with a Start button.

#5. Set channel permissions

To make captcha a real gate:

1. For every category and channel except the gate channel, deny View Channel to @everyone and allow it for the captcha role.
2. In the gate channel, allow View Channel for @everyone.

With those permissions in place, members who have not solved the captcha see only the gate channel. If you also use token gated roles, place the verification channel behind the captcha role.

#What members do

1. Click Start on the panel.
2. NXT shows an image with a short code, visible only to them.
3. Click Enter code and type the characters in the modal.
4. On success, NXT assigns the role.

If the image is hard to read, New image gives a fresh one.

#Limits

• Each code is 6 characters. Each challenge allows 3 attempts. After that, the member needs a new image.
• Each challenge expires after 10 minutes.
• Codes are not case sensitive, and easily confused characters such as 0, O, 1, and l are never used.

#Solve log

The captcha page in the dashboard shows how many members solved it in the last 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days, and lists the latest 50 members who passed, with the time. Failed attempts are not logged.

#Reposting the panel

If the panel is deleted, click Repost panel. The previous panel is replaced.
