Adding NXT takes a couple of minutes. You need the Manage Server or Administrator permission in the Discord server.
Invite the bot
- Go to nxtnft.app/select and log in with Discord.
- NXT lists every server you can manage. Servers that already have NXT show Manage. Others show Add NXT.
- Click Add NXT next to your server. Discord opens the authorization screen with the server preselected.
- Keep every requested permission checked and click Authorize.
- You return to NXT, and the server's dashboard is available from the server list.
Permissions NXT requests
NXT requests these permissions:
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| View Channels | Seeing the channels where panels and bots run |
| Manage Roles | Granting and removing roles for verification rules and captcha |
| Send Messages | Posting panels, sales, art, floor, and giveaway messages |
| Embed Links | Rich embeds for panels and bot responses |
| Attach Files | Captcha images |
| Use External Emojis | Custom emoji in panels and embeds |
| Manage Messages | Removing the !gcreate command message after it starts a giveaway, and cleaning up its own panels |
| Read Message History | Finding and editing panels it posted earlier |
| Use Application Commands | Slash commands such as /art and /floor |
| Mention Everyone | Pinging staff roles on tickets and roles on giveaways |
| Create Private Threads | Support tickets |
| Send Messages in Threads | Replying inside ticket threads |
| Manage Threads | Closing and archiving ticket threads |
Do not grant anything beyond this list. NXT does not need Administrator, and you should not give it Administrator.
Move the NXT role above the roles it assigns
Discord only lets a bot assign roles that sit below its own highest role.
- Open Server Settings > Roles.
- Drag the NXT role above every role NXT should grant or remove: holder roles, trait roles, and the captcha role.
- Save.
If a role is above NXT, the dashboard overview flags the rule, and members who verify are told that some roles could not be assigned.
Keep the NXT role below your admin and moderator roles. It only needs to be above the roles it manages.
Next steps
- Create your first rule
- Set up the verification channel
- Add captcha if you want to filter automated joins first
