Embed messages

Embed messages let you post rich messages as the NXT bot: rules, welcome posts, announcements, mint info, or anything else. You build them in the dashboard with a live preview, and you can edit a posted message later without reposting it.

#1. Permissions

In each channel where you post, make sure the NXT role has:

• View Channel
• Send Messages
• Embed Links

If something is missing, NXT tells you which permission to add before it tries to post. To ping @everyone or @here, NXT also needs Mention Everyone.

#2. Build a message

1. Open Dashboard > Embed messages and click New message.
2. Give it a name. Only you see this, in the dashboard list.
3. Pick the channel.
4. Optionally add message text, shown above the embeds.
5. Fill in the embed. Every part is optional, but each embed needs at least one of a title, description, field, image, author or footer.

Each embed can have:

• Author: a name, an optional link, and an optional icon
• Title and an optional title link
• Description, up to 4,096 characters
• Color, the stripe on the left. Pick one, type a hex code like #e11d2e, or type a name like blue.
• Fields, up to 25. Turn on Inline to place up to three fields side by side.
• Image, shown large under the embed, and thumbnail, shown small in the top right
• Footer text and icon, and an optional timestamp showing when the message was sent

A message can have up to 10 embeds, and Discord allows up to 6,000 characters across all of them. The editor counts characters as you type.

Images and icons must be public https:// links. Discord loads them from that link, so do not delete the image afterwards.

#3. Formatting

Descriptions, field values and message text support Discord formatting:

Wrap text in two vertical bars on each side to make a spoiler that stays hidden until clicked. The preview shows all of these the way Discord does.

#4. Mentions

Choose how mentions behave:

• Do not ping (default): mentions show as names, but nobody is notified.
• Ping users and roles: mentioned users and roles are notified. @everyone and @here are not.
• Ping everyone too: @everyone and @here notify the whole channel as well.

#5. Link buttons

Add up to 5 buttons under the message. Each button opens a link, such as your website, mint page or marketplace.

#6. Send, update and repost

• Send message posts it in the channel you picked.
• Save draft stores it without posting.
• After a message is posted, Update message edits the same post in Discord. Reactions and the message link stay the same.
• If you pick a different channel, the button becomes Move message: NXT posts it in the new channel and deletes the old post.
• Repost posts a fresh copy at the bottom of the channel and deletes the old one.
• Save without updating keeps your changes in the dashboard without touching Discord.

If someone deletes the post in Discord, sending again posts a new one.

#7. Import and export JSON

Export JSON gives you the message in Discord's format, to keep as a backup or reuse in another server. Import JSON accepts the same format, including JSON copied from Discohook. Importing replaces what is in the editor, and mentions are set back to Do not ping.

#8. Post from Discord with /embed

Members with Manage Messages can type /embed in a channel, or /embed channel:#announcements to choose one. A form asks for a title, description, color, image and footer, and NXT posts the embed. The message then appears in Dashboard > Embed messages, where you can add fields, buttons and more embeds, and update it.

#Limits

• Each server can save up to 200 messages. Delete old ones to make room.
• To prevent spam, a server can send or update up to 30 messages every 10 minutes from the dashboard.
• Embed messages are included on every plan.
