Verification channel setup

The verification channel is where members click Verify. NXT posts a panel there with two buttons: Verify and My wallets.

1. Create the channel

In Discord, create a text channel such as #verify. It should be visible to everyone who should be able to verify. If you use captcha, make it visible to the captcha role instead of @everyone.

Members do not need permission to send messages in this channel. Everything happens through buttons and ephemeral replies.

2. Give NXT access

In the channel's permission settings, make sure the NXT role has:

  • View Channel
  • Send Messages
  • Embed Links

The dashboard checks these permissions when you pick the channel and tells you if anything is missing.

3. Pick the channel in the dashboard

  1. Open Dashboard > Verification channel.
  2. Select the channel.
  3. Choose which proof methods members can use. Same-wallet transfer is always on. OpenSea profile code and Delegated wallet import for cold wallets can be switched off. The OpenSea option requires OpenSea data to be available.
  4. Optionally pick a role change log channel, where NXT posts a short message whenever it adds or removes a role.
  5. Click Save and post panel.

4. Customize the panel

You can change the panel's:

  • Title
  • Description, for example a short explanation of what holders get access to
  • Color of the embed accent

5. Repost the panel

If the panel was deleted, or you want a fresh copy at the bottom of the channel, click Repost panel. NXT deletes the current panel message and posts a new one.

What members see

The panel has these buttons:

  • Verify checks the member's proven wallets and grants roles. If they have no wallet yet, it walks them through proving one. The result offers Add another wallet, Import delegated wallets (when enabled), and Re-check.
  • My wallets lists their wallets, lets them remove one, and offers Add a wallet.

Members can also use the /verify and /wallets slash commands anywhere in the server for the same actions.

Every reply is ephemeral, which means only the member who clicked can see it. NXT never sends DMs.

If you use onboarding, the onboarding steps appear as part of the Verify flow.
